My bivy sack got the big test last night; it rained the whole night.
Conclusion - it leaks like a sieve. I had to sleep in the freezing cold (it
must have hit low 40s) with a wet sleeping bag. I don't think I've been that
cold since the time my camelbak burst inside my sleeping bag in Nepal. Time
to do some more seam-sealing on my bivy sack.

While I was having breakfast and trying to warm myself up, a bus load of
nature guides showed up. One of them (Jhesica) invited me to join them on the
bus. Of course I accepted the offer, and before I knew it, I was on a bus to
who knew where. I ended up getting dropped off a ways down the road, and I
road to a town called Baños, which is a beautiful spot. It was even sunny for
the ride into town. Of course it rained in the evening. My clothes will
    never be dry.

    peter
