15 NOV - Marrakech, Morocco

It seems like I've come down with the flu, so I've been in bed most of the day. Hopefully by tomorrow I'll be back in the game. I've been going out a couple of hours each evening just to check out the nightlife. Everything seems to come to life at night in Marrakech. The main plaza turns into a giant carnival, with food booths, jugglers, fire eaters, and people trying to sell just about everything. Everyone in town in out and milling around.

It seems like nighttime is the only time to get good food here. Yesterday I spent hours looking for decent food, but could only find expensive tourist food. But once nighttime rolled around, there was food everywhere; skewers with various unknown meats, brains, boiling pots of snails, lentil soup, mint tea, and an amazing red spice drink that's served out of a giant copper pot.

The weather here has been bad, as it rained most of the day. I suppose it is a good time to be sick. I'm hoping tomorrow will be sunny, and I can venture a little further from my bed.
