Today is the one year anniversary of my travels! One year ago today, I threw my bike on top of my friend Guy's car, and along with my other friend Marc, began a road trip to Baja California. It was from there that I began my Latin America biking adventure.

It's been quite a year; four months biking and busing through Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Bolivia. Then after a four month layover back in SF, I began my current four month European travel leg, which has brought me to Spain, Portugal, Morocco, France, England, Czech Rep., Hungary, Italy, and now Greece. In a week or so, I will leave Europe to begin my African travel leg.

I am currently in Nafplio, a wonderful little town in the Peleponnese. It appears to be a middle-class Greek vacation town. The old town is now full of nice shops and restaurants. It reminds me a bit of Cartegena, Colombia. Towering over the city is the impressive Palamidi Fortress, which I hope to visit tomorrow.

I had to do a lot of searching to find a cheap place to stay here, but I eventually found one, Hotel Economou, for 2000 Drachma (~ US$6).
