I am flying out tonight to Cairo. I managed to get a booking on an Egypt Air flight, which was substantially cheaper than my original booking (US$300.)
Given shipping costs, I have given up on the idea of buying a motorbike here. Once I get to Cairo, I will continue my search, working my way up through the Jordan and Syria until I find the right combination of price/availability/minimal bureacracy.
Strangely, I will miss Johannesburg. I have had a wonderful time here staying with Martin and his family, and my friends Karen and Damian. I have truly been made to feel at home. A big thank you to Martin, Sharon, Cayley, Blaire, Karen, and Damian!
